UC San Diego Triton Invitational Results
LA JOLLA, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebel track and field team had 14 top-eight finishes at UC San Diego's Triton Invitational this weekend in La Jolla, Calif. Stephanie Schafer and Kelsey Williamson highlighted the squad's performances with first-place showings in the high jump (5-6.5/1.69m) and 800m (2:10.77), respectively.
Williamson teamed up with Christine Lowe, Secoral Yanez and Allyson Stone in the 4x400m relay and helped the quartet to fourth (3:52.52). Yanez was also a member of the 4x100m relay squad that finished sixth (47.40). She was partnered with Zadia Bryant, Davina Collins and Ashley Franklin.
Ali Bartosch finished just behind Williamson in the 800m with a time of 2:11.39, which was less than a second behind the winning effort.
Lauren Petersen ran the third fastest time in the 5000m (17:31.04), while Larissa Davis was fifth in the 3000m steeplechase (12:22.27). Erin Straughter was seventh in the 100m hurdles (14.68).
Amanda Bingson finished fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 215-8 (65.75m) and eighth in the discus (144-9/44.11m). Chelsea Cassulo was fifth in the hammer with a personal-best distance of 205-6 (62.63m). Brittney Harvey also threw a personal-best 170-0 (51.81m) in the hammer.
Adrianna Oliva came in eighth in the shot put (open division) with a throw of 45-8 (13.31m).
In the jumping events, Collins was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18-6.5 (5.65m), while Olivia Hudson placed sixth in the triple jump (35-6/10.82m).
