LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Traveling to play in Fort Collins, Colo., for the first time, the UNLV men's tennis team is seeded fourth and opens play Wednesday vs. fifth-seed San Diego State at 10 a.m. PT at the 2011 Mountain West Conference Championships.

The men's and women's annual postseason event is begin staged at the new University Tennis Complex but the trip will mark territory for head coach Owen Hambrook because host Colorado State does not field a men's tennis team.

The 57th-ranked Rebels, 14-10 overall and 3-3 in the MWC, are looking to win their first MWC tournament title since 2007. SDSU is 4-15 and finished 2-4 in MWC play. UNLV defeated the Aztecs 5-2 just this past Saturday in Las Vegas on Senior Day. The winner of the rematch will take Thursday off before playing in Friday's semifinals vs. top-seeded BYU. The men's final is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. PT

MWC regular-season champion and 35th-ranked BYU (19-5 overall) enters the 2011 MWC Men's Tennis Championship as the top seed after posting a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play this season. No. 54 TCU (11-12/5-1), the defending tournament champion, earned the No. 2 seed, while 58th-ranked New Mexico (14-9/4-2) is the No. 3 seed. Utah (7-14/1-5) claimed the No. 6 seed while Air Force (10-13/0-6) rounded out the bracket as the No. 7 seed.
