UNLV's Amanda Bingson one-upped herself Saturday afternoon at UC Irvine's Steve Scott Invitational with another record-setting performance in the hammer throw. Bingson's toss of 229-0 (69.79m) topped her previous best of 224-8 (68.47m) set two months ago and broke the eight-year-old Anteater Stadium record by more than five feet.

With today's performance, Bingson now owns the top-two throws in NCAA competition this season. They also rank as the third and fourth best overall in this year's USA Outdoor Track and Field marks.

In all, UNLV had three performers place in the hammer throw with Chelsea Cassulo and Danielle Rios finishing second and seventh, respectively. Cassulo threw a distance of 194-8 (59.33m), while Rios' went 172-0 (52.43m).

Deja Edwards finished third overall in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 19-6.00 (5.94m).

Day two of the Invitational starts at noon on Sunday with the women's discus and the women's 4x100m relay kicking off the action.
