LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Returning to action for the first time since March 13, the 52nd-ranked UNLV men's tennis team didn't even get to play on its own courts because of the high winds in the valley on Thursday.

The Rebels instead had to move off-campus and indoors to the International Tennis Center where they dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 36 BYU in a key Mountain West Conference match. UNLV fell to 12-9 and 1-2 in the league while the Cougars upped their record to 15-4/3-0.

BYU began the afternoon by winning all three doubles matches for one team point. In singles play, the Rebels were strong at the top and bottom of the lineup.

Senior star Mehdi Bouras, ranked 58th in the nation, downed Evan Urbina 7-6, 6-2 at the first position to stay perfect in MWC action while Alex Bull continued his successful campaign with a 6-3, 6-7, 1-0 (10-8) super-tiebreaker victory over Roman Warias on the final court.

The Rebels are back on action on Saturday when they host Utah starting with doubles play, weather permitting, at 10 a.m. at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
