Robinson Will Represent Team USA At Worlds

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Khadevis Robinson, a first-year assistant track & field coach at UNLV, will represent Team USA at the 2011 IAAF World Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held Aug. 27-Sept. 4, in Daegu, South Korea. Robinson will be put to the test early as his event, the 800m run, will hold its heats on Saturday afternoon, the first day of competition, at 12:05 pm (Daegu time). This will be the seventh time in Robinson's career that he has represented the Red, White and Blue at the World Championships.

Robinson finished second at the 2011 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in June to earn a roster spot in the 800 meters with a final time of 1:44.49.

Robinson, a 2004 Olympian and four-time champion in both the USA Outdoor and USA Indoor competitions, was named the USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after winning the 800m race at the Rome Golden Gala Diamond League event in a time of 1:45.09 in early June.

A total of 66 men and 63 women, including eight reigning world champions, will represent the United States at the world competition. On the roster are a total of 19 World Championship medalists and 16 Olympic medalists.
