Final Stats

LAS VEGAS - UNLV sophomore standout Lucia Batta nearly picked up her second straight top-20 upset singles win but ultimately fell in three sets on the second day of the 10th annual Freeman Memorial Tennis Championships Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

A day after knocking off the nation's 16th-ranked player, Batta, ranked 121st herself, fell to No. 19 Zoe Scandalis of USC, 7-5, 5-7, 6-1. Batta and partner Aleksandra Josifoska also played doubles in the main draw and were ousted by third-seeded and 12th-ranked Robin Anderson and Skylar Morton of UCLA, 8-3.

The host's other two doubles teams, playing in Flight Two, also lost on Saturday.

The tournament will wrap up Sunday as Scandalis will face No. 1-ranked Mallory Burdette of Stanford. That match will follow the doubles semifinals and then final, which get underway at 10 a.m. Admission is free of charge.
