LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Host UNLV will have two singles players and one doubles team playing in Sunday's finals of the Larry Easley Memorial Classic, which is being played this weekend at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

On Saturday, the doubles team of Johannes Markel and Tamas Batyi won two rounds to advance. They took a tiebreaker to defeat Gaston Cuadranti and Nate Lammons of SMU 9-8 in the quarterfinals and then fought off Rifat Biktyakov and Richard Del Nunzio of Oklahoma State 8-6. The Rebel duo will face SMU's Mischa Nowicki and Arturs Kazijevs in Sunday's final, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

In Flight 2 singles, Bernard Schoeman downed Nowicki 6-4, 6-4 and will face Lammons in the final.

The final Rebel still alive is Willie Sublette, who beat Ben Lee of Arizona 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the consolation final in Flight 2, where he will face Carlos Bermudez of Arizona.

"We had a tough set of matches today but it's great to have three entries in the finals," said UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook. "We look forward to ending the fall schedule on a high note Sunday."

Players from six other programs are competing in the individual event: Arkansas, Arizona, Oklahoma State, SMU, NAU and Seminole State College located in Seminole, Okla.

The annual tournament was renamed in 2010 in honor of UNLV Hall of Famer Larry Easley, who passed away from illness in 2005 at the age of 57. Easley coached the UNLV men's tennis team longer than anyone in history and produced sometimes-spectacular results over his dozen seasons from 1993-2002, including producing five All-Americans and two NCAA individual champions.
