Ruegamer Honored By MW

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV senior Rene Ruegamer has been named the Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

Hailing from Wurzburg, Germany, Ruegamer went a combined 5-0 in singles and doubles play as he led UNLV to a trio of dual wins last week. Playing at the top of the singles lineup, he swept Dalton Albertin of No. 74 Ball State, 6-1, 6-4, on Thursday, before moving past Sven Posluny of Utah State, 6-2, 6-0, on Friday. Ruegamer finished off his undefeated week in singles action by downing NAU's Robin Pezzutto, 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (14-12) on Sunday. Ruegamer also went 2-0 in doubles play at the No. 3 position while teaming with Charlie Alvarado.

The Rebels are off until hosting Denver on March 22.
