Aztec Invite Shortened By Rain

SAN DIEGO (UNLVRebels.com) - The majority of San Diego State's Aztec Invitational was canceled due to persistent rains in throughout the day. The UNLV track & field program managed to have six top-eight finishers in the eight women's events completed in the rainy conditions.

Myshauna Alexander was the top finisher for UNLV with a second-place showing in the javelin with a distance of 133-8 (40.74m).

Lauren Petersen, Ashley Henry and Olivia Hudson finished sixth in their respective events. Petersen finished sixth in the 5000m with a personal-best (PB) time of 17:17.44. Henry notched a measurement of 5-3.00 (1.60m) in the high jump, while Hudson leapt a PB distance of 17-2.25 (5.54m).

Two others finished eighth overall. Erin Morris clocked a time of 14.77 in the high jump and Ria Daniels jumped 17-7.50 (5.37m) in the long jump.

The squad returns to action on March 24 in Pasadena, Calif., at the Pasadena City Games.
