LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program will host its annual Scarlet & Gray Challenge this Friday, Dec. 6, at Myron Partridge Stadium and Sheila Tarr-Smith Field. The intrasquad meet, which will consist of 13 events, is slated to begin at 10:00 am with the women's weight throw and conclude with the 4x400m relay at 12:30 pm. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Last year's edition witnessed the Scarlet win the head-to-head duel by 20 points (193-173) to claim its third straight Challenge title.
"We always look forward to this time of the year because it's a great way to see how our training is progressing and have fun at the same time," said Rebel head coach Yvonne Wade. "Track season is right around the corner so this is our way to get those competitive juices flowing."
Friday's competition is a tune-up for the 2014 indoor season, which is scheduled to start on Jan. 17, at the NAU Lumberjack Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz.
