2013 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships - Friday's Results

NAMPA, Idaho (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field team had 10 members qualify for the finals in six events at the 2013 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho. Emily Blok led the Rebel contingent with running the top time in both the 60m (7.42) and 200m (23.79) - both personal bests - while fellow senior Kelsey Williamson was third in the 800m (2:10.63) and fourth in the 400m (56.08).

In fact, UNLV saw three other runners besides Williamson qualify for Saturday's 800m final. Laura Affeld was fourth (2:14.44), while Corey Honeycutt was sixth (2:12.62) and Miranda Menzies was eighth (2:14.80).

Monay Meggs also advanced in the 400m with a time of 56.55, which was seventh best.

Erin Morris and Auzsane Crowe-Carter also qualified in the 60m hurdles (third/8.50) and mile run (10th/5:08.09).

The Rebels got two seventh-place finishes from their distance medley relay (Crowe-Carter, Secoral Yanez, Affeld and Honeycutt) and Ayana Gales in the long jump. The relay ran a time of 12:21.49 while Gales jumped 18-9 (5.71m).

"Tomorrow we really have to step things up. We get the majority of our team points from inside the oval (in the running events) so the Rebels have to put it all out there."

Also competing tomorrow, the final day of the meet, will be Adrianna Oliva in the shot put. Gales, Taylar Mills and Olivia Hudson will participate in the triple jump.
