SEATTLE (UNLVRebels.com) - Making a rare visit to the Northwest, the UNLV men's tennis team lost 6-1 to No. 72 Oregon in a neutral-site matchup at the University of Washington's Nordstrom Tennis Center Saturday.
The Rebels dropped to 5-3 while the Ducks improved to 9-1.
Playing indoors, Oregon began the day by taking a spirited doubles point. In singles, UNLV's top player, Ace Matias, continued his hot play by downing Jeff Mullen, 7-5, 6-2, at the No. 1 spot. The Ducks, however, won all three matches that went three sets to hold off the Rebels.
It doesn't get any easier for UNLV, which stays in Seattle to face No. 19 Washington on Sunday. The match gets underway at noon and live scoring will be available at www.gohuskies.com.
