SEATTLE (UNLVRebels.com) - Wrapping up a rare visit to the Northwest, the UNLV men's tennis lost 6-1 to No. 19 Washington at the Nordstrom Tennis Center Sunday.

The Rebels dropped to 5-4 while the Huskies improved to 10-4.

Playing indoors, Washington won the first two completed doubles matches for a 1-0 lead. UNLV was much more competitive in singles play, however, as two matches went three sets and freshman Gilad Berman swept Emmett Egger at the third spot, 6-0, 6-3. At the top of the lineup, Rebel Ace Matias lost a first-set tiebreaker and ultimately fell to No. 18 Kyle McMorrow, 7-6, 6-2.

"The guys competed really well today against a great team on its home turf," UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook said. "We had opportunities on multiple courts but hats off to the Huskies. We'll learn from this and continue working hard."

UNLV next heads to San Diego for a neutral-site match vs. Oklahoma State on Thursday before taking part there in the storied Pacific Coast Doubles Tournament.
