2013 UNLV Invitational Results

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The Rebel track & field program hosted its second home meet of the 2013 outdoor season this weekend (March 15-16). The Scarlet & Gray notched seven victories in 16 of the UNLV Invitational events - two of which were won by Auzsane Crowe-Carter (800m and 1500m PB) - with six coming on the track and one more in the field. Minnesota's women matched UNLV's victory output, while the two remaining events were won by Secoral Yanez (400m) and UNLV volunteer coach Lara Saye-Crutchley (discus).

UNLV got wins in the 100m (Monay Meggs, 11.97), 200m (Emily Blok, 23.52m PB), 800m (Crowe-Carter, 2:16.85), 1500m (Crowe-Carter, 4:38.37), 5000m (Lauren Petersen, 18:58.93), 100m H (Erin Morris, 14.12), 4x100m relay (UNLV "A", 45.79) and javelin (Myshauna Alexander, 150-3/45.80m).

Yanez won the 400m in a time of 56.94 while Saye-Crutchley tossed the discus a distance of 166-1 (50.62m).

A number of Rebels amassed personal-best times/distances at the meet, and they were: Alexander in the discus (145-5/44.33m); Noela Estrada in the 400m H (1:04.03); Ashley Franklin in the 200m (25.54); Rhea Hill (2:23.45); Corey Honeycutt (4:43.16); Meggs in both the 100m (11.97) and 200m (24.23); Cortney Miller in both the discus (133-7/40.73m) and hammer (166-7/50.77m), Taylar Mills in the long jump (17-9.75/5.43m), shot put (38-8.75/11.80m) and javelin (124-2/37.84m); Adrianna Oliva in the discus (132-8/40.45m) and Krystal Wharton in the long jump (17-6.25/5.34m).

The Rebels hit the road for the first time during the outdoor campaign with a trip to Pasadena, Calif., for the Pasadena Games on March 22-23.
