COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (UNLVRebels.com) - The 62nd-ranked and third-seeded UNLV men's tennis team saw its successful season come to an end with a 4-0 loss at the hands of second-seeded and 46th-ranked Boise State in Saturday's semifinals of the 2013 Mountain West Championships at the United States Air Force Academy.
The Rebels finished at 17-7 overall, which marked the most wins for the program since finishing 20-7 in 1997, while the Broncos improved to 19-9 and moved into Sunday's final.
BSU started the afternoon by taking two of three doubles matches for one team point. UNLV's lone victory came on court two where Tamas Batyi and Johannes Markel teamed up to beat Scott Sears and Garrett Patton, 8-5.
After a close doubles point, the Rebels were overmatched in singles as they won just one set before Boise clinched it. The Broncos posted straight-set wins on courts two, five and then four to end it.
