EUGENE, Ore. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV 4x100m relay team entered the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships seeded 22nd out of 24 squads. The foursome comprised of Uchechi Anunkor, Emily Blok, Ashley Franklin and Monay Meggs improved their final standing nine spots to 13th overall after their 44.86 effort in the one-lap race on the first day of the national meet held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

By virtue of their finish, the relay team will earn USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors. This is the sixth time in program history that the 4x100m relay has achieved All-America status, and it's the first occurrence since 1997.

The quartet was not the only representative sporting the Scarlet & Gray of UNLV, as Myshauna Alexander competed in the javelin throw. Alexander finished the competition 18th overall after she registered a 145-10 (44.44m) measurement on her first of three attempts.

Blok will run Thursday in the 200m, which is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm. The Rebel senior is set to go in the second heat after finishing 11th at the NCAA West Preliminary held in Austin two weeks ago.
