LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV men's tennis will send a four-man contingent to the Napa Valley Invitational, which starts Friday, to kick off its fall tournament action as the program's 2013-14 schedule was released by the school.
The first-time trip to the event will see the Rebels play against competition from Oklahoma State, Fresno State, San Francisco, Arizona and Idaho at the Silverado Resort.
At the end of the month UNLV will return to the annual ITA All-American, which is being held Sept. 28 through Oct. 6 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
The Rebels will then take part in the annual ITA/USTA Mountain Regional staged at Las Vegas' own Darling Tennis Center from Oct. 23-27.
The fall tournament slate will be complete after the Rebels host the fourth annual Larry Easley Memorial Classic from Nov. 1-3, featuring players from schools such as Auburn, Boise State and NAU along with UNLV.
The dual season begins on January 31 by hosting New Mexico State, which will be the first of six straight home matches including a visit for former conference rival BYU on Feb. 14 and current MW rival San Diego State on Feb. 16.
The first road trip will take UNLV to play a pair of matches in Eugene, Ore. -- one vs. Portland on Feb. 22 and one vs. host Oregon a day later. Another neutral-site matchup, vs. Pac-12 Conference member Cal, will take place in San Diego before the Rebels will take part for the second straight year in the storied Pacific Coast Doubles tournament, a USTA event that is celebrating its 124th season in 2014.
Following trips to play UC Irvine and Cal Poly, UNLV stages a 10-match homstand that will bring a list of opponents such as Utah (March 13), Marquette (March 16) and Stanford (March 26) to town.
Senior Day is set for April 6 when conference rival New Mexico comes to campus. The regular season concludes with trips to Utah State and then Nevada, Reno.
The 2014 MW Men's and Women's Tennis Championships will be played April 24-27 in Fresno, Calif., while the NCAA Round of 16 and individual championships are scheduled to be played this season in Athens, Ga.
