LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV standout Ace Matias is ranked 76th in the nation in singles as the preseason ITA College Tennis Rankings were released Friday.
The junior finished last season with a career-high ranking of No. 109 after compiling a 24-8 overall record and sporting the best dual-match mark -- 5-1 -- among all No. 1 players in the Mountain West.
The 76 spot is the highest for a UNLV men's player in the preseason since Elliot Wronski was No. 49 in 2009.
Head coach Owen Hambrook's team opens its fall slate later this month when it competes in the Napa Valley Invitational Sept. 13-15.
