2014 Bronco Invitational Results
SUNNYVALE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team finished 15th overall with a team score of 374 at Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational held at Baylands Regional Park. Spencer Moore paced the Rebels for the fourth straight meet with a final time of 21:22.7 for 30th place.
Oklahoma State tallied a score of 82 points to win the team title with five top-29 finishers, which included Monika Juodeskaite, who was the individual champion with a time of 20:01.0.
Nikki Regalado was the second Rebel to cross the finish line in a time of 21:54.2, which equated to 63rd place. Vannessa Martinez (69th/21:58.2), Rebecca Hobby (74th/22:00.2) and Lindy Eskin (138th/24:29.7) rounded out the quintet to score for the Scarlet & Gray.
"Today was a good race for us," said head coach Jebreh Harris. "We were without last week's #2 Angela Ziff and upperclassman Auzsane Crowe-Carter. Spencer Moore led us, yet again, while Nikki Regalado, Vannessa Martinez and Rebecca Hobby ran within 10 seconds of each other to finish the race. That shows how strong we can be. Las Vegas native Lindy Eskin stepped up for the team as our #5 runner today. The team showed great unity and togetherness the entire meet. I'm very optimistic on our competitiveness for the Mountain West Championships in two weeks. In full and complete health, we will place better than we have in the previous years."
