In 2003, the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation was co-founded by Nikki and Tony Berti to provide disadvantaged children with a pair of new shoes. Originally, the Berti's named their program the Goodie Two Shoes Giveaway after a similar event that Tony's had volunteered for during his playing days with the NFL's San Diego Chargers (1995-98). Four years later, the Giveaway was renamed the Foundation, a Las Vegas-based 501c3 charitable organization. In 2010, a mobile shoe unit - a 48-foot "custom shoe-store-on-on-wheels - was added to serve 10,000 at-risk Southern Nevada children annually.
On a side note, Wade and Tony Berti were classmates at the University of Colorado where the former ran track & field and the latter played football.
Besides Wade's connection to the Berti's, UNLV alum and former football standout Casey Flair works for the Foundation.
