LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 58th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team evened its record at 2-2 with a 4-3 victory over Pacific Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

UNLV opened the morning by winning two of three doubles matches for one team point -- just barely. After the Tigers won at the top of the lineup, Aleksandra Josifoska and Iren Kotseva teamed up to beat Gergana Boncheva and Christina Ferrari 6-4 on court three. The point came down to the second spot where Anett Ferienczi-Bako and Kamelia Dimitrova fought of five match points in the tiebreaker to win it 7-6 over Cristina Ruiz and Iveta Masarova.

In singles, Lucia Batta, ranked 29th in the nation, defeated Masarova 6-3, 6-4 to improve to 14-4 overall this season. Santa Shumilina downed Ferrari, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 3 and Kotseva eased by Regina Suarez, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 5.

Next up, UNLV will host UC Riverside on Sunday. Doubles begin at 10 a.m. and admission is free of charge.
