LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 58th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team (3-2) won its third straight match with a 7-0 victory over UC Riverside Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

UNLV opened the morning by sweeping a trio of doubles matches to forge a 1-0 lead. Lucia Batta and Santa Shumilina downed Jasmine Almaguer and Courtney Pattugalan 6-1 at No. 1; Anett Ferenczi-Bako and Kamelia Dimitrova defeated Tiffany Jue and Sophie El-Kara 6 -1 at the second spot; and Paola Artiga and Iren Kotseva whitewashed Kate Bergeson and Thanh Doan 6-0 on court three.

The hosts also did not lose even a set in singles play. Batta , ranked 29th in the nation, defeated Almaguer 6-1, 3-1 retired at the top of the lineup; Shumilina got by Pattuglan 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2; Ferenczi-Bako eased past Bergeson 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3; Kotseva swept Tiffany Jue 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4; Dimitrova won by the same score over El-Kara at No. 5; and Artiga matched the blanking, over Doan, on court six.

Next up, UNLV will travel to play at Pepperdine on Friday.
