FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - Two UNLV women's tennis players -- Lucia Batta and Aleksandra Josifoska -- earned All-Mountain West for the fourth consecutive season as the league announced it awards during its annual banquet at the Mountain West Tournament Championships being hosted by Fresno State.
Batta, ranked 75th, is 26-9 overall and 3-2 vs. MW opponents playing at the No. 1 position. Josifoska, who was last year's Conference Player of the Year, stands 15-8 overall and went 5-0 vs. MW foes to give her a stunning 26-1 mark in league dual matches during her career.
Batta and Santa Shumilina, a junior transfer from Ole Miss, were named All-MW in doubles after posting a 13-7 mark, including 3-2 vs. the league, at the No. 1 spot in the lineup. It was Batta's third career honor in doubles play.
UNLV will next face top-seeded host Fresno State on Friday morning in the event's quarterfinal round.
