LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - For the second straight year, five members of the UNLV men's swimming team earned academic honors as the Western Athletic Conference announced its 2013-14 academic all-conference squads on Wednesday afternoon.
Earning repeat academic honors for their careers were juniors Balint Batka and Matt Roe, both of whom were named MPSF All-Academic Scholar Athlete during the 2012-13 season. First-time honorees include sophomores Lucas James, Henrique Machado and Spenser Sullivan.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
