FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team finished in third place with a team score of 66 at the Fresno State Invitational held at Woodward Park. The Rebels were paced by newcomers Spencer Moore and Rebecca Hobby, who finished seventh and ninth, respectively, out of 66 entrants.Host Fresno State claimed the Invitational title behind a quartet of top-five finishes, which included Annemarie Schwanz's first-place effort in a time of 14:37.20. Air Force took second place (39 points), while San Jose Staté (fourth/93) and Bakersfield (fifth/146) rounded out the field.
"We faired decent at our season opener," said head coach Jebreh Harris. "Spencer Moore and Rebecca Hobby led the charge for us today. Moore was the first Rebel to finish the 4.2K race in 15:00.50 (seven points). Hobby followed closely behind in ninth place with a time of 15:04.20 (nine).
