UNLV men's soccer Shota Takada has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.

The new award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition, as voted on by the UNLV communications department.

Takada scored his first career goal just over two minutes into overtime for a 2-1 victory over second-place Utah Valley. The win puts the Rebels just three points behind the Wolverines with one less conference game played.
