LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - For the second straight year, UNLV had a total of 39 student-athletes named to the Fall 2014 Academic All-Mountain West Team, the league announced Thursday. The Rebels have boasted at least 35 representatives on the fall list for nine consecutive years.

The football team led the way with 15 honorees. The women's soccer team was next with 13 of its own. The volleyball squad added eight more, while three from the cross country team helped round out the quartet of sports that participate in the MW and are sponsored by UNLV in the fall academic period.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MW Team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team. Overall, 522 student-athletes were named to the Fall 2014 Academic All-Mountain West Team.

In addition, the UNLV men's soccer team had three players - Kyle Mellies, Corey Ackley and Bradley Kamdem - named to the 2014 Academic All-WAC Team in January.
