LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's tennis team lost 4-1 to Iowa at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Tuesday.
The Rebels dropped to 5-9 on the year while the Hawkeyes improved to 6-6.
Iowa won the two completed doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead, In singles play, UNLV got its lone point from the fourth spot where Paola Artiga swept Annette Dohanics 6-2, 6-4.
Rebels were still pushing for victories in the third set on courts 2-3 but those matches were halted when Iowa reached the clinching four team points.
UNLV continues with Big Ten Conference opponents when its hosts Purdue on Friday, starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission is free of charge.
