LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Former Rebel Girl Maire Chew, who was a part of the UNLV dance team from 2010-14, has earned a spot on the Boston Celtics Dance Team Roster for the 2015-16 season.
Approximately 120-160 dancers attended the preliminary auditions in Boston, Los Angeles and New York to make this year's squad.
Thirty dancers from all three preliminary auditions advanced to the final round of auditions in Boston where they performed three routines (hip-hop, jazz and a 45-second self-choreographed solo to a randomly selected song).
Sixteen women were selected to squad, which consists of 10 veterans and six rookies.
Chew was on of the six rookies selected. While at UNLV, she won a national championship with her team in Division I-A Hip Hop at the Universal Dance Association Collegiate National Competition.
Chew also graduated in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in communications. She will be moving to Boston in August and is looking forward to getting to know her teammates and supporting the Celtics during the upcoming season.
The UNLV Rebel Girls and staff are extremely proud of her and wish her the best of luck as she enters the next chapter of her dance career.
