LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Season and individual tickets for UNLV baseball's 2016 home games are now on sale. The Rebels are slated to play 27 home contests at Earl E. Wilson Stadium against five Mountain West foes as well as non-conference affairs versus Arizona State, Grand Canyon, Ohio State, Texas Tech, UC Irvine and West Virginia.
Season tickets are priced at $130 for adults and $115 for faculty/staff and seniors.
Individual games are set at $8 for adults, $6 for faculty/staff and seniors. Those that purchase online and in advance (up to three hours before first pitch) can get tickets for as low as $5. UNLV students with a valid I.D. and children under the age of 12 are free.
Groups of 15 or more are discounted to $4 a ticket, but they must be purchased at least one day in advance of the game.
The Scarlet & Gray begins the '16 campaign with six straight contests against two squads from the Big 12 Conference. The Rebels open the year, Feb. 19-21, with three games in Austin, Texas against the No. 23 Texas Longhorns at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
UNLV continues its Big 12 run with a visit from the West Virginia Mountaineers Feb. 26-28 to kick off the home slate as well as a six-game homestand that includes three versus the San Jose State Spartans that opens the Conference season.
In addition to the affairs with SJSU to begin March, the Rebels will host the Big Ten's Ohio State Buckeyes (March 11-15), WAC's Grand Canyon Antelopes (March 22), Big 12's Texas Tech Red Raiders (March 28-29) as well as three that count towards the Governor's Series presented by NV Energy and Barrick Gold standings with the Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack (March 24-26).
UNLV will only play three times at home in April, a MW set against the Air Force Falcons (April 15-17), but hosts eight in a row in May with visits from the UC Irvine Anteaters (May 3), New Mexico Lobos (May 6-8), Arizona State Sun Devils (May 10) and Fresno State Bulldogs (May 13-15).
First-year head coach Stan Stolte, who has served as the program's associate head coach the previous five years, will lead the Rebels with assistance from Kevin Higgins and Pat Armstrong. The team, which won 25 games a year ago, returns three starting pitchers (Kenny Oakley, Blaze Bohall and D.J. Myers) and three positional players (Payton Squier, Nick Rodriguez and Austin Anderson).
