Jan. 6, 2016 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's swimming's and diving's Lina Rathsack has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.
The new award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition, as voted on by the UNLV communications department.
Rathsack was a triple-event winner for the Rebels on Saturday, helping UNLV defeat Grand Canyon and the host UC San Diego squad. Facing two of the top teams in the MW, she swept the breast events, beginning with a 1:04.98 in the 100. She followed that with a 2:20.29 to win the 200 breast. To finish her afternoon she recorded a 2:07.10 to give UNLV first-place points in the 200 IM and also swam on the 200 medley relay for UNLV that placed third.
