IRVINE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's tennis team won big on the road after downing No. 74 UC Irvine 6-1 Friday.

The Rebels improved to 4-0 while the Anteaters fell to 1-3.

UNLV won two doubles matches to secure the team point. Carol Zi Yang and Aiwen Zhu downed Sarah Gong and Mazy Watrous 6-3 at the top position while Iren Kotseva and Paola Artiga defeated Cassidy Branstine and Stephanie Hazell 6-2 at the third spot.

In singles, the Rebels swept five matches, including one that went to a super tiebreaker.

Zhu swept Gong 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1; Yang beat Watrous 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2; Artiga defeated Vivien Dvali 6-2, 6-7, 1-0 (10-6) at No. 3; Anna Bogoslavets downed Hazell, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4; and Reka Szentes outlasted Andrea Duva 4-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-3) on court six.

The Rebels will return to the Fertitta Tennis complex on February 13 and are set to host dual-matches against Idaho, Youngstown State, and Southern Utah, starting with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission to all UNLV home matches is free of charge.
