March 28, 2016 2016 UNLV Baseball Weekly Notes: Week Seven
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebels close out their six-game homestand early this week with a pair of contests against their third foe from the Big 12 Conference this season. UNLV and the No. 23 Texas Tech Red Raiders will square off Monday evening with first pitch set for 6:05 pm. The two will wrap up the two-game set with an afternoon matinee Tuesday at 1:05 pm.
The teams enter the series on opposite ends of the spectrum. The Rebels have lost six in a row - four of which by two or less runs - and eight of their last 10. The Red Raiders, on the other hand, come to Las Vegas riding a five-game winning streak. They've also posted eight victories in their last 10 outings.
The squad from West Texas was ranked No. 23 in last week's Perfect Game's Top-25 Poll and was in the "receiving votes" category of the USA Today Coaches Poll. They are in line to improve their standing in those two polls and garner recognition in others after their 4-0 week.
TUNE IN, WATCH & LISTEN: Both games of this week's non-conference series between UNLV and Texas Tech will be streamed live and free of charge in conjunction with the Mountain West Network and Campus Insiders. Links to each contest as well as live stats can be found at UNLVRebels.com.
