LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's golfer Alexandra Kaui has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition, as voted on by the UNLV communications department.

Kaui shot a 3-under 69 in the final round to finish at 4-under-par 212 (72-71-69) to take home the individual Mountain West Championship last week. She had the largest individual winning margin in MW Championship history (five strokes), topping the previous record of four that was shared by former UNLV women's golfer Therese Koelbaek. Her 4-under 212 is tied for the second lowest 54 hole score in conference championship history. She birdied three of four par-5 holes (two, nine and 11) and the par-3 hole 17 and had just one bogey to finish the final round three strokes below par. In the second round she was the only golfer to finish below par with a 1-under 71.

Earlier on Wednesday Kaui was named to the 2015-16 All-Mountain West Second Team.
