June 8, 2016 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's golfer Alexandra Kaui has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition, as voted on by the UNLV communications department.
Kaui won the U.S. Women's Open sectional qualifier on the Eisenhower Course at Industry Hills Golf Club, near Los Angeles, turning in a 3-under-par 171 to earn a spot in the 2016 U.S. Women's Open Championship. The event in the City of Industry, Calif. was a two-round qualifier for the U.S. Women's Open Championship, which will be held at CordeValle in San Martin, Calif., July 7-10.
