Aug. 10, 2016 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country program released its 2016 fall schedule Wednesday. The Rebels will compete in four meets before their participation in the Mountain West Championships and the NCAA postseason.
The season kicks off at Northern Arizona's George Kyte Classic (2.6 miles) in Flagstaff, Arizona, on September 3. The team will then make three consecutive trips to the Golden State for the UC Riverside Invitational (September 17/6K), San Diego State's Aztec Invitational (September 23/5K) and Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational (October 15/6K).
After their final trek to California, the team will have two weeks between meets with the MW Championships (6K) scheduled to take place in Boise, Idaho, on October 28.
The NCAA will hold its West Regional (6K) in Sacramento, California on November 11 while the national championships (6K) will be two weeks later on November 19 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
This year's squad will be comprised of five returners â€" Mandy Chitwood, Lindy Eskin, Spencer Moore, Sara Williams and Angela Ziff â€" and seven newcomers â€" Kennedy Allen, Madison Alred, Caitlyn Amburgey, Yamilet Biggers, Alexis MacArthur, Rebeca Morales and Nicole Snow.
