LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country program will compete in their second meet of the season with a trip to Southern California for the UC Riverside Invitational Saturday. The women will partake in the 6K race that is stated to take place at the Ag/Ops Course adjacent to the UCR campus at 7:30 am.

The UCR Invitational will consist of 17 NCAA Division I teams, including the host Highlanders and the Rebels.

"Our women are looking forward to the first 6K of the season," said head coach Jebreh Harris. "We've had a great few weeks of training, working together, and learning about each other more. It's still very early in the season, but I love the way we are progressing and building. One of our goals is to minimize our time spread between our top-five runners. We have been accomplishing pack running and feeding off of each other in practice, so it will be nice to see how we respond in a more congested environment."

In their first action of the season, UNLV finished fifth overall at Northern Arizona's George Kyte Classic two weeks ago. Spencer Moore paced the Rebel contingent with a 19th-place showing.

Moore as well as Lindy Eskin, Sara Williams, Angela Ziff, Kennedy Allen, Caitlin Amburgey and Nicole Snow will run in Riverside, and it will signal the first of four trips to the Golden State by UNLV.
