Sept. 17, 2016 UCR Invitational Results
RIVERSIDE,Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team finished 14th overall at the UCR Invitational Saturday morning. The Rebels accumulated 333 points in the 6k race at the Ag/Ops Course.
Arkansas took first place with 33 points to top the standings.
UNLV's top finisher was Spencer Moore who finished 37th in a time of 21:19.9. Sara Williams was the next Rebel to cross the line at a time of 22:03.4. Angela Ziff (22:09.8), Kennedy Allen (22:14.3), Nicole Snow (23:12.8), Caitlin Amburgey (23:28.2), Lindy Eskin (23:51.0), and Rebeca Morales (24:44.7) all competed for the Scarlet & Gray.
"Today's race had a lot of positives," said head coach Jebreh Harris. "Spencer led the way for the second week. Although we had a tight group of three runners for the 2-3-4 positions for us, we need to get our 5-6 runners to move closer to the group to make us stronger. I liked the positive energy presented to me after the race by the team, as we know we have more in us.".
The Rebels will be back in action next week (September 23) again in Southern California for the Aztec Invitational (5K) at San Diego State.
