Gonzalez Named Outstanding Rebel of the Week

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Women's Basketball junior Dylan Gonzalez has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department.

Gonzalez, a junior from Pocatello, Idaho, played a key role in UNLV's 51-46 upset win over first-place Wyoming last Wednesday. She scored a career-high 20 points, including going 7-for-7 for 16 points in the first half, to lead all scorers and help UNLV hand the Cowgirls their first Mountain West loss. Gonzalez also contributed to a strong defensive effort by the Lady Rebels as they held Wyoming under 50 points for the first time this season. The junior added 12 points and six rebounds in Saturday's loss to San Jose State.

The Lady Rebels are back in action tonight on the road at New Mexico. Tip is set for 6 p.m. PT.
