LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team won its second straight match, 7-0 over Boston College on Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Rebels improved to 6-2 while the Eagles feel to 3-7.
UNLV won two doubles matches to secure the team point. Evaldo Neto and Jakob Amilon defeated Derek Austin and Hank Workman 7-6 (7-4) at No. 1, while Richard Solberg and Adam Gage-Brown downed Alexander Chieffalo and Sean Mullins 6-3 on court three.
In singles, the Rebels won all six matches to secure the shutout. Amilon got by Aidan McNulty 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1; Alexandr Cozbinov got by Austin 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2; Ruben Alberts defeated Workman 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 on court three; Neto beat Sean Mullins 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4; Courtney Lock defeated Kent Mukai 7-5, 7-5 at No. 5 and Solberg rallied to finish off Chieffalo 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 on court six.
UNLV will return to the courts tomorrow for a doubleheader to take on BYU starting with doubles at 11 a.m. PT followed by a matchup between Northern Arizona at 4 p.m.
