LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Men's Golf sophomore Harry Hall has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department.
Hall, at native of Hayle, England, led the No. 17 UNLV men's golf team to a tie for second place after finishing tied for second individually out of 88 golfers at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz., Feb. 28. His three-round score of 13-under was four shots behind the tournament champion while the second-place finish was the highest of his career. It also bested his previous career high of a tie for third, set just the previous week in the Rebels' spring opener in Hawaii. Hall shot three rounds in the 60s with a low of 6-under 66 in the second round, which was just one stroke shy of his career-low round of 65 -- also set in Hawaii. Over the three rounds, Hall carded a total of 12 birdies while his stroke average was 67.7.
The Rebels are wrapping up the final round of the prestigious Southern Highlands Collegiate on Wednesday and will again be in town this weekend for The Jackrabbit Invitational at Siena Golf Club, March 10 & 11.
