Johnson Named Outstanding Rebel Of The Week

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV men's basketball senior Jordan Johnson has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week presented by Air Force Reserve, the school announced Wednesday.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department.

Johnson, from Waukegan, Illinois, scored a team-high 20 points in leading the Runnin' Rebels to their first win at Air Force since 2014. The point guard was 5 of 9 from the field, including 3 of 4 on three-pointers, and was 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. He added four assists, three steals and three rebounds in the 81-76 road win. Johnson's 6.4 assists per game ranks 14th in the country.

Mountain West Conference play continues tonight for UNLV at the Thomas & Mack Center with a 7 p.m. tip against New Mexico.
