Rebel football freshman Tyleek Collins earns honor after scoring four touchdowns against San Jose State
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -Â UNLV football freshman Tyleek Collins has been named the Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletic Communications department.
Collins, a Savannah, Georgia native, scored four touchdowns in Saturday's game at San Jose State, becoming just the fourth Rebel and first rookie to notch four touchdown receptions in one game, joining Devante Davis (2013), Henry Bailey (1994) and Nate Hawkins (1971). The wide receiver's 170 yards on nine grabs were just six yards short of Ryan Wolfe's 2006 school freshman record and ranked 21st in a game by any UNLV receiver. Collins now leads the team with 23 catches for 387 yards and six touchdowns to go along with one rushing touchdown.
Collins and the Rebels are back in action this Saturday, November 3 at Sam Boyd Stadium, taking on #20/23 Fresno State at 7:30 p.m.
