Playing indoors for the second straight match, the UNLV men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision at former league rival BYU Monday afternoon.

The Rebels fell to 9-7 overall while the Cougars of the West Coast Conference improved to 14-3.

BYU began the day by emerging victorious from an intense doubles session. The hosts won 6-4 on court three and then 7-6 at No. 2 to earn the key team point.

Moving to singles, the Cougars got wins on courts 3-5 to clinch it.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: Senior Alexandr Cozbinov, ranked 85th in the nation, improved to 11-3 at No. 1 in duals this spring with a 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 win over Sean Hill.

NET NOTE: After winning just one match since February 3, senior Courtney Lock went 2-0 on the trip to Utah in the No. 2 singles spot, including rallying past BYU's Jeffrey Hsu Monday, 1-6, 6-2, 6-1.

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will return to the Fertitta Tennis Complex to host Cal Poly Wednesday starting with doubles at 5 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
