LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team saw its three-match winning streak snapped by former Mountain West rival Utah, 4-3, Friday night at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Rebels fell to 7-5 while the 35th-ranked Utes of the Pac-12 Conference improved to 16-2 overall.
UNLV got off to a great start, taking the doubles point with 6-4 victories on both courts one and two.
With the match eventually tied at 3, the visitors earned the clinching point on court three by winning the only three-set match of the evening.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Alexandr Cozbinov, ranked 89th in the nation, teamed up with Courtney Lock to clinch doubles at the top spot and then breezed past David Micevski in singles play, 6-1, 6-3.
NET NOTE: The Rebels have won the doubles point in seven straight matches.
QUOTABLE: "It was a great doubles point, which went our way, but we couldn't quite get the job done in singles tonight."
