BOISE, Idaho (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team won its first true road match of the season, 4-1 at Boise State Sunday at the Appleton Tennis Center.
The Rebels, who downed the Broncos (8-11/1-2) in Idaho for the first time ever in Mountain West play, improved to 11-7 overall and 1-2 in the league.
The visitors actually had to rally as Boise State won two of three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead. UNLV, however, picked up four straight-set wins in singles to quickly end it.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Jordan Sauer teamed with Ruben Alberts for a 6-4 doubles win on court three and then swept Max Blancaneaux 6-4, 6-2 in singles play.
NET NOTE: Boise State saw its five-match home win streak snapped by the Rebels.
QUOTABLE: "We were outplayed in doubles but everyone refocused and took care of their court in singles. I was very proud of how the guys responded today."
-UNLV Head Coach Owen Hambrook
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will host Air Force Friday at 3 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
