FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team grabbed a 1-0 lead after doubles but ultimately lost 4-2 at Fresno State in a late-night match Thursday at the Wathen Tennis Center.

The Rebels fell to 13-8 overall and 3-3 in Mountain West play while the Bulldogs improved to 15-11 overall, 10-0 at home and 4-1 in league play.

The match was pushed into the night after high winds made it unplayable at the original afternoon time.

UNLV began by rallying in doubles. After the hosts won on court three, the Rebels picked up victories on both remaining courts to earn the point. UNLV then won the first match in singles for a 2-0 lead but the Bulldogs won four straight to clinch it overall.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: Senior Alexandr Cozbinov teamed with Courtney Lock to win their doubles match and then quickly dispatched Xander Veys at the top spot in singles, 6-1, 6-2.

NET NOTE: Cozbinov, ranked 89th, improved his senior season record in dual matches to 16-3, including 5-1 vs. the Mountain West. Cozbinov has not lost even a set in his last six outings.

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will close out its regular season with a key trip to UNR Sunday starting with doubles at 11 a.m. The match is part of the Governor's Series presented by NV Energy and Barrick Gold.
