Rebels Continue Play Into The Summer

UNLV baseball’s Jack-Thomas Wold, a 2018 Northwoods League All-Star, chosen to participate in Major League Dreams Showcase on August 7.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV baseball program's Bryce Bullock, Ryan Hare, Seth Mullis, Grant Robbins, Jacob Rogers, Bryson Stott, Jack-Thomas Wold and Conner Woods have extended their respective 2018 seasons with their participation in four different summer collegiate leagues, while Stott played 15 games with USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team.

Stott, a rising junior from Desert Oasis High School, began the summer in the Cape Cod League with the Wareham (Massachusetts) Gateman. He played in 12 games and hit .275 with 11 hits, two of which were doubles, in a total of 40 at-bats. He scored nine runs and recorded three RBI. He transitioned to play 13 contests for the CNT where he led the squad in both RBI (seven) and multiple-RBI games (three) in bouts against Chinese Taipei, Japan and Cuba. Overall, he hit .262 with 11 hits. In his debut, he went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI – a walk-off single – to defeat the Coastal Plain League Select on June 28.

Wold is suiting up for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) in the Northwoods League – the same team Stott played for last summer and broke its single-season records for games played, at-bats, hits, runs and stolen bases. The rising sophomore from Basic Academy of International Studies has played in 57 of the team's 60 games (25-35), thus far. He is hitting .288 with 64 hits, 22 of which have gone for extra bases (15 doubles, seven home runs), 41 RBI and 31 runs. He had the opportunity to play in the Northwoods All-Star Game in mid-July and will participate in the Major League Dreams Showcase – a day of workouts and games – next week (Tuesday, August 7).

Mullis joined Wold on the Rafters roster, but only played in 11 games. The rising senior from Frisco, Texas, hit .200 with six hits, six RBI and two runs scored.

Rogers and Robbins went West to play in the California Collegiate League for the Southern California (Whittier) Catch, who finished the year 13-24-1. The former, a rising sophomore from Liberty High School, represented the Catch at the League's All-Star Game, has played in 32 games and posted a .279 batting average with 29 hits to go with 19 runs and 17 RBI. The latter, a rising junior from Bishop Gorman High School, has hit .229 with 25 hits, 13 RBI and 12 runs in 31 games.

Woods also played in the CCL this summer, but in Santa Barbara for the Foresters, who went 34-7. Woods, a rising sophomore from Tempe, Arizona, threw in nine games and notched a 2.08 ERA and a 1-0 record in 17.3 innings of work. He struck out 25 against 10 hits, nine walks and four earned runs. At the plate, he hit .500 with eight hits, three of which went for extra bases (two doubles, one triple), five runs and four RBI.

Hare was in the CCL, as well, and played for the Academy Barons out of Compton. The rising junior out of Lakewood, California, saw action in eight games with a 3-3 overall mark and one save. He threw a total of 32.0 innings and struck out 23 against 25 hits, 20 earned runs and 11 walks.

Bullock, a redshirt freshman this past season out of Spring Valley High School, played for the Boulder (Colorado) Collegians in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League. He hit .244 with 21 hits, 10 of which went for extra bases (six doubles, four home runs), 22 RBI and 20 runs.

NOTE: Wold's regular season with the Rafters will come to a close on August 12.
