RIVERSIDE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men and women's swim teams swept Cal Baptist Saturday at the Lancer Aquatic Center. The Rebel women won 220 to 80, while the Rebel men won 168.5 to 125.5.

REBELS OF THE DAY: 
Women- Julia Filippova won the 500 free and 200 free.
Men- Cameron Castro won the 1000 free and placed second in the 200 free.

THE RUNDOWN - WOMEN: 
*Sophomore Montse Moreno won the 1 meter (261.83) and senior Kourtney Clark took second (232.65).
*Moreno took first on 3 meter (287.10).
*Kicking off the first swimming event, Kacey Kiuchi, Skylar Moore, Kate Afanasyeva, and Kennedy Hood finished first in the 200 medley relay (1:46.66). The team of Lindsay Swail, Eva Kim, Tara Wise, and Caitlyn Schreiber touched second (1:46.90).
*Freshman Diana Neagu took first in the 1000 free (10:26.53), sophomore Camila Quineche touched second (10:26.65).
*Sophomore Julia Filippova touched first in the 200 free with a time of 1:50.35, followed by sophomore Filio Raftopoulou who finished second (1:52.18).
*Junior Kate Afanasyeva placed first in the 100 back with a swim of 55.98, junior Kacey Kiuchi took second (57.44), and sophomore Lindsay Swail took third (58.00).
*Sophomore Annie Sanguansin took second in 100 breast (1:07.11).
*Sophomore Teneka Ash finished first in the 200 fly with a swim of 2:04.95, sophomore Gabby Lizzul took second (2:05.27), sophomore Carissa Armijo took third (2:05.32).
*Filippova took first in the 50 free (24.18), junior Caitlyn Schreiber took second (24.21), and junior Eva Kim took third (24.30).
*Junior Kate Afanasyeva touched first in the 100 fly (56.17), junior Tara Wise took second (57.14), and sophomore Kristina Schneider finished third (58.47).
*Sophomore Filio Raftopoulou took first in the 200 back (2:02.86), Kim took second (2:03.76), and Kiuchi took third (2:04.02).
*Moore placed second in the 200 breast with a swim of 2:24.56, Sanguansin followed in third (2:24.98).
*Filippova finished first in the 500 free with a time of 4:57.41, followed by junior Lauren Smith who took third (5:06.21).
*Afanasyeva finished second in the 100 fly (56.53), junior Tara Wise took third (57.86).
*Armijo took first in 400 IM with a swim of 4:28.41, followed by Quineche who took second (4:32.54).
*Closing out the meet, Filippova, Afanasyeva, Kim, and Schreiber took first in the 200 free relay with a swim of 1:35.08. The team of Hood, Haase, Camryn Wheals, and Alexia Taylor-Arredondo took second (1:37.50)

THE RUNDOWN - MEN:
*Junior Jesse Cawley grabbed second on 3-meter (258.38).
*The 200 Medley Relay team of Richard Szilagyi, Sam Willstrop, Michal Cukanow, and Sean Gage finished second (1:31.08). Followed by the team of Ogi Maric, Dagen Kipling, Bryan Chavez, and Jake Keller who took third (1:32.04).
*Freshman Cameron Castro finished first in the 1000 free (9:31.47), followed by  sophomore Wyatt Marsalek who placed third (9:45.76). 
*Senior Hayden Hemmens touched first in the 200 free with a swim of 1:39.04,  junior Bryan Chavez touched second with a swim of 1:40.66, and freshman Christopher Mykkanen took third (1:41.74).
*Freshman Panos Bolanos finished first in the 100 back (49.39), followed by sophomore Hayden Cornellison who touched second (50.98).
*Junior Sean Gage took first in the 100 breast (57.26), sophomore Sam Willstrop took second (57.36), and sophomore Jack Binder took third (57.71).
*Sophomore Michal Cukanow swam a 1:51.83 in the 200 fly, putting him first.
*Junior Richard Szilagyi touched second in the 50 free (20.86), followed by sophomore Casey McEuen who took third (21.05).
*Szilgyi took second in 100 free (45.56) followed by junior Bryan Chavez who took third (45.56).
*Maric touched first in the 200 back with a 1:50.07, Cornellison took second (1:52.57).
*Sophomore Ivan Zukov finished the 200 breast with a time of 2:06.43, earning him first. Binder came in third (2:07.08).
*Freshman Christopher Mykkanen took first in the 500 free (4:33.35), Castro came in second (4:33.54), and Hemmens finished third (4:36.63).
*McEuen tied for first in the 100 fly (50.17) and Cukanow took third (50.90).
*Zukov took first in the 400 IM (4:04.32).
*Closing of the last event of the night, the 200 free relay team of Szilagyi, Maric, McEuen, and Gage took second with a swim of 1:22.65. The team of Chavez, Steven Butler, Jake Keller, and Hemmens took third (1:24.63).

QUOTABLE-
"This meet was a good chance for us to see how the team would perform coming straight off the bus. I'd say we were solid, with some good times across the range of events. We'll need those skills in abundance this week as we road trip to Utah and BYU; the doubleheader on the road will really tell us a lot about where we are at, and how good we have the potential to be this year."
