Rebels Drop First Road Game Of The Season To CBU

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV baseball team saw their perfect away record drop after falling to California Baptist, 10-7, during a single-game, non-conference contest at James W. Totman Stadium in Riverside, California. 

The Rebels dropped their record to 9-8 (3-0 MW), while the Lancers improved to 11-4 (2-4 WAC).

REBEL OF THE GAME: Austin Kryszczuk went 1-for-5 at the plate with a 2 RBI triple in the top of the eighth that closed the gap and tied the ballgame 7-7.

TURNING POINT: The Scarlet & Gray trailed 7-4 going into the top of the eighth frame before scoring three runs off of Kryszczuk's 2 RBI triple. California Baptist answered back in the home half of the eighth with three runs on three hits to put them back at a three-run lead. 

Jared Villalobos (2-1) earned his second win of the season after pitching 0.2 innings of relief with two strikeouts and only one walk. 

Liam Rocha (S,1) secured the save after going 0.1 innings of relief with one strikeout.

Joey Acosta (0-1) was saddled with his first loss of the season after going 0.0 frames of relief, allowing three runs on three hits and zero strikeouts. 

UP NEXT: The Rebels return to Las Vegas and Earl E. Wilson Stadium for a three-game conference series against Air Force beginning Friday, first pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m.

PURCHASE TICKETS
Single-game ticket prices this season are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $5 to groups of 15 or more. Fans that purchase tickets prior to game day can get them for an advanced single-game price of $6. 

All high school, middle school and elementary students are free under UNLV's new admission policy. To receive free admission, high school students must present valid Nevada are school I.D. at the box office on gameday for one (1) complimentary ticket. Current UNLV students will receive free admission with a valid school I.D. All other students will receive a complimentary ticket at the box office (no I.D. required). Kids not yet elementary school age will continue to receive free admission for all UNLV Olympic sports.
